Who am I to provide you with my services?

Axel Devillard, passionate about the human body and drawing. My pleasure lies in the intellectual challenge of translating expert discourse into clear and understandable illustrations.

Creator of En Chair et en Os, osteopath and medical illustrator. Co-author of "Toute l'anatomie humaine par le dessin" (All Human Anatomy Through Drawing).

En Chair et en Os was born in 2020, during my osteopathy studies. Passionate about drawing and having fallen in love with anatomy upon discovering it, my path was shaped by the curiosity to always go further in understanding anatomy and its pathology.

This project has become my main activity and aims to become the reference in personalized medico-scientific illustration. Enabling expert audiences to have artistic and educational materials to better translate their words into diagrams that speak for themselves.

Enabling a knowledgeable and curious public to challenge their anatomical knowledge and deepen their understanding of the human body.

Why En Chair et en Os?

En Chair et en Os is the result of an individual frustration: not being sure I understood the anatomy I had actually learned very well, not finding decor for my office, constantly having diagrams irrelevant to my needs. With this project, you will find the solution to the need to visualize the human body in motion and to offer educational support adapted to each profession and specialty. All this thanks to the combination of anatomy and drawing.

 

The problem with decor in the medical, paramedical, and health fields

After visiting several offices of different practitioners, I have very rarely been captivated by wall decor. Why is it that, despite a beautiful arrangement of the space and care taken with various decorative elements, is it so difficult to find beautiful anatomical charts on the walls in offices where the human body is the primary concern?

Perhaps there is no other option than the "classic" anatomical charts found everywhere, with a simple skeleton, sometimes containing anatomical errors. Or the famous reproductions of Da Vinci, which do not highlight the incredible talent of this artist. Impossible to find beautiful anatomical posters that combine art and education? The solution: En Chair et en Os anatomical charts.

How can I offer you office decor like no other?

Inspired by artists and anatomists who, without today's technologies, offered extraordinary visuals. Vesalius, Da Vinci, Bourgery, Leveillé, and many others, are huge sources of inspiration for me. Anatomy as decor, mixed with art and education, is a great idea to create a "wow" factor in your office.

Anatomical accuracy. That is the only constraint applied to my work. Everything else is dependent on your needs, whether pedagogical or artistic.
