Collection: Collection by Francis Buchet - artistic anatomy illustrator

Écorchés by Francis Buchet

This collection brings together anatomical plates and écorchés hand-illustrated by Francis Buchet for En Chair et en Os. A comic book artist and morphology professor for over fifteen years, Francis has trained hundreds of students at the Beaux-Arts de Paris, Penninghen, La Grande Chaumière, and other leading schools. Today, he joins En Chair et en Os to give form to a new generation of écorchés.

Each poster in this collection bears Francis's signature style: a dark background that highlights the precision of the lines, the depth of the muscular volumes, and the readability of the insertions. The approach is that of an artist who has spent his life observing the human body in motion, using live models. You will not find rigid medical diagrams here, but living, embodied écorchés, where anatomy tells the story of movement.

Who are these posters for?

These plates naturally find their place in physical therapy, osteopathy, podiatry, dentistry, and surgical offices, where they bring a pedagogical and aesthetic dimension to the treatment space. They are also aimed at healthcare students seeking to visualize anatomy beyond a textbook, artists and illustrators looking to refine their understanding of the body, and anyone passionate about human mechanics.

The Francis Buchet method

Francis illustrates his écorchés based on photos of athletes, dancers, and models, whom he "strips down" to reveal the underlying structure. Each poster is the result of a precise morphological analysis: bones, muscles, insertions, trajectories, followed by modeling and shading.
